We believe in giving our children an opportunity to…
- Be themselves and develop at their own rate
- Express themselves freely and creatively
- Build habits in concentration, initiative, and persistence
- Learn to be embracing, creative, cooperative, and imaginative
- Learn independence -- to solve problems and do things for themselves
- Learn interdependence – to feel pride from being cooperative, helpful and a part of something larger than themselves
- Learn impulse control regarding safety, health and respect for the rights of others
- Build feelings of self-confidence and self esteem
- Increase understanding of their own emotions
- Have fun while learning
How we are different and successful
The Children’s Academy for Learning combines the philosophy and educational methods developed a century ago by Dr. Maria Montessori with traditional teaching techniques. The Montessori approach involves creating a learning environment that nurtures a child’s desire to work, explore and learn. A Montessori education allows children the opportunity to learn by doing and to develop skills at their own pace. Traditional teaching encourages children to participate, work in small groups, learn to sit and listen during group time, and become accustomed to teacher directed lessons. This combination enables children to successfully adapt to a wide variety of future educational environments.
"My sons teachers are doing an excellent job – far beyond our expectations! Keep up the good work."
- Shakeela S., parent
